Child Safety Standards

Last updated November 4, 2026

These are the child safety standards of Popby (Popby: Pixel Room), made by Mapletask. They apply to the Popby app and the room pages it opens on the web.

Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation

Popby prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sexualizing minors, and any content or behavior that exploits or endangers minors. This is part of our Terms of Use, which everyone agrees to when they sign in.

Who can use Popby

Popby is not for children. You must be at least 14 years old to use it, and the app is rated 16+ on the App Store. Popby is friends-only: there is no public feed, browsing or stranger discovery, and people can only see and message friends they added with an invite link, QR code or connect code.

How to report

  • In the app — Every photo, note, intro, answer, line, reply and hangout message has a Report option, and you can report a person from their room (the flag button). You can block the person at the same time
  • By email — support@getpopby.app. Anyone can write to us, with or without an account

What we do

  • We review every report within 24 hours, and reports about child safety first
  • We remove CSAE content and delete or suspend the accounts involved
  • We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant law enforcement and authorities in the countries concerned, as the law requires
  • We keep what the law requires us to keep for an investigation, and cooperate with law enforcement

Compliance

Popby complies with the child safety laws that apply to it, including the laws on reporting child sexual abuse material.
